Idris G Reid
Resident Manager, Bahamas
Mr Reid was born in Nassau, Bahamas and studied Public Administration at the University of Manchester. He also undertook technical studies in various areas in the United States and Canada. He served in the Government of The Bahamas for more than 40 years in various capacities including Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Agriculture & Fisheries, Foreign Affairs and National Security respectively. From 1988 to 1993 he served as High Commissioner for The Bahamas to Canada. In 2000 he was asked to assist in the development of the Airport Authority of The Bahamas and became its first General Manager until 2005. In January 2006 he was posted to the Office of the Governor General of The Bahamas as Administrative Secretary. Mr. Reid has wide experience in management and project development.
